Dear AHJ Community,
I am absolutely thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of the Allendale-Hampton-Jasper Regional Library System. It is an honor to serve our incredible communities, and I am excited to begin this new chapter together.
There’s no better way to start than with one of my favorite library traditions—Summer Reading! Our 2025 Summer Reading Program officially launched on June 1st, and it’s already off to a fantastic start. Whether you’re a child, teen, or adult, there are books to explore, prizes to win, and fun to be had. This year’s theme celebrates imagination, discovery, and connection—and we have a packed schedule of events across all three counties.
From storytimes to special guest performances, there’s something for everyone. I hope you’ll join us at your local branch, not just to read, but to connect, celebrate, and make memories. Libraries are more than buildings with books—they are spaces where our communities come alive.
In addition to all the summer fun, we are also beginning a new strategic planning process for the entire AHJ Library System. This is a big moment for us—and we want to hear from YOU. Your voice matters. What’s going well? What’s missing? What do you need more of from your library? Whether it’s different hours, new programs, improved spaces, or something entirely different—we are here to listen.
We’ll be offering several ways to share your thoughts this summer, from surveys to in-person conversations at community events and in our branches. Please don’t miss the opportunity to help shape the future of your local libraries.
I look forward to meeting you at one of our upcoming Summer Reading Program events. Come say hello, share your ideas with me, and let’s make this a summer to remember—together.
With excitement and gratitude,
Sena Loyd
