Schedule: Looking for individuals who can work at least two or three Saturdays per month. Some weekly hours may be scheduled for coverage as needed. Hourly rate depends on the level of experience and county. The position pays no more than 12 hours per week.

Job Description
The Library Assistant provides excellent frontline service desk coverage for the library’s daily operations, including basic circulation functions such as charging, discharging, and renewing library materials. Working in a team-based environment under the daily guidance of the Branch Manager, routine tasks include operating a web-based circulation system, opening, and closing the library building, monitoring patron, and building security during assigned hours, and performing other tasks deemed necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of one year of customer service, library, or retail experience is required.
Education: High School diploma or GED. Additional education is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge or experience working in a library or bookstore setting, customer service or office experience. Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel to maintain records and prepare reports. Having supervisory or lead worker experience is desirable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements include ability to stoop, twist, turn and move materials in the library; ability to lift moderate weight up to 30 pounds in the handling of library materials; ability to push carts, bins and book trucks loaded with library materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
